The Mint was established in 1899 by the British to turn the gold of Western Australia in coins. The museum shows the process of gold extraction, the most expensive gold coin in the world and large nuggets.

Shipwreck Gallery

The "Shipwreck Gallery" of Fremantle shows remnants and documentation on many historic ships descended in Western Australia. Among them the "Trial", the oldest wreck of Australia and the "Batavia" a famous ship of the dutch "VOC".

Fremantle Maritime Museum

The "Maritime Museum" of Fremantle shows ships of all kinds. The highlight of the exhibition is the submarine "HMAS Ovens", which can be visited on a tour. In addition, the museum displays steam engines and weapons of the Navy.
