The Pinnacles

The "Pinnacles" are part of the Nambung National Park. The Nambung National Park is about 12 km south of Cervantes. The "Pinnacles" are the most famous natural wonder of Western Australia. The yellow limestone pillars emerged from plant roots around 500,000 years ago. They are in the "Pinnacles Desert", a small part of the national park. This is also where the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Center and a large parking lot are located. You can drive your car on a sandy road through the desert park or walk around the 3-4 m high stone pillars. It is only 400 m from the visitor center to the first stone pillars. The circuit by car is approximately 3.5 km long. In addition to the "Pinnacles", there are also sand dunes, kangaroos and emus to see. The Discovery Center can be reached via a paved road that branches off from the Indian Ocean Drive. More information about the Nambung National Park see link below.
