Rubenshuis Museum

Peter Paul Rubens was born in Siegen (Germany) in 1577 and moved to Antwerp at the age of 10 after the death of his father. He traveled to Italy and Spain to study with great masters and became one of the most famous painters in the world. His home and studio in Antwerp was preserved as a museum. The "Rubenshuis" is now the most famous museum in Antwerp. Although the interiors did not survive the centuries, the rooms are furnished in the style of the time. One can see in which luxury the well-heeled painter lived. The museum also shows some significant works 0f the artist.

Museum aan de Stroom

The "Museum aan de Stroom" or MAS is one of the top attractions of Antwerp. It is not just an exciting museum that tells about the history of Antwerp, the 10-storey building has also a viewing platform with the best panorama over the city. The viewing platform is also open when the museum has already closed. Opening times see link of the museum. The 60 m high museum tower was designed by Neutelings Riedijk architects from Antwerp. The curved glass windows are a reminiscent of water and on the stone slabs of the facade one finds the hand of the "Brabo Fountain", the symbol of the city of Antwerp.

Red Star Line Museum

Around 2 million people from all over Europe were shipped by the "Red Star Line" from Antwerp to America between 1873 and 1934. In the buildings where the emigrants were physically examined, there is now the "Red Star Line Museum". The exhibition shows the history of emigration and the dreams and hopes of living in the "New World".
