Zentrum Paul Klee

The "Zentrum Paul Klee" owns about 4,000 works of Paul Klee, the largest collection of the artist. The center opened in 2005 and shows only  a small part of the collection. The curved building was designed by italian architect Renzo Piano.

Kunstmuseum Bern

The Kunstmuseum Bern became famous when Cornelius Gurlitt died in 2014 and bequeathed his controversial collection to the museum. Currently, the inheritance is searched for "Nazi-looted art". Even without Gurlitt, the museum has a great collection of art.

Kunsthalle Bern

The "Kunsthalle Bern" was founded in 1918 by a community of artists and is now a foundation that promotes contemporary art. The Kunsthalle organizes temporary exhibitions. The purchased art of the foundation is exhibited in cooperation with other museums in Bern.

Einsteinmuseum Bern

The Museum is actually called "Bernisches Historisches Museum" but it also includes the "Einstein Museum". The brilliant scientist from Germany worked at the patent office in Bern when he published his "theory of relativity" in 1905. The Historical Museum of Bern shows objects from the Stone Age to the 20th century. The museum also possesses treasures from Asia, Egypt and America. The highlight of the collection is the "Berner silver treasure" from the 16th century.
