The Botanical Garden of Valencia is located in the northern part of the city center, offering a large number of rare trees. Especially in summer time, the shady "Jardin Botanico" is a very popular destination. In spring you can admire the blossom of many exotic flowers.
The former riverbed of the Rio Turia was transformed into the Park in 1985. After severe flooding it was decided to divert the river. A citizens' initiative could prevent a planned motorway in the riverbed. The "Jardin del Turia" surrounds the city to the north and east.
In Spanish Levante means "Sunrise" or "east". The "Playa de Levante" is located in the east of Valencia, at the east coast of Spain. The beach is easily accessible by tram. The wide sandy beach is located north of the harbor. There are many bars and restaurants on the "Passeig de Neptu".
For the "Ciudad de las Artes" a parking garage was built by famous architect Santiago Calatrava. On the garage a park was created, which is spanned by a white, arched roof spending shadow. Among the 320 m long canopy you will find native plants from the region, including many palms and orange trees.
