Vancouver Art Gallery

With more than 10,000 works, the Vancouver Art Gallery is one of the largest museums in Canada. The VAG has the most important collection of artists from British Columbia like Emily Carr, as well as international stars such as Andreas Gursky and Cindy Sherman.

Museum of Anthropology

The Museum of Anthropology is located at the seafront and displays objects from around the world. Most interesting objects are the works of the First Nation Indians. The building by architect Arthur Erickson is also impressive, built in 1979.

Vancouver Maritime Museum

The Vancouver Maritime Museum displays objects of all continents from navigation instruments to uniforms and ship models. Special exhibitions show topics like the Quest for the Northwest Passage.

Science World Museum

The former Expo Centre hosts the Science World Museum since 1987. The center organizes temporary exhibitions on research and technology. There is an OMNIMAX Theatre under the dome. Ceck out the website below, for the movie program.
