"Moderna Museet" (Museum of Modern Art) is one of the best museums of its kind in Scandinavia. The museum shows spectacular and controversial works by contemporary and modern artists. On the website (link) you can find the current exhibitions.

In 1628 the rich ornated battleship "Vasa" sank during it's maiden voyage in the port of Stockholm. The ship was recovered in 1961 and extensively restored. The ship in the" Vasa Museum" is one of the main attractions of Stockholm.

The "Swedish National Museum" is a picture gallery with Swedish and European artists. The museum also shows objects from porcelain, glass and metal. A very nice building with great exhibitions.

The "Nordiska Museet" is a museum for arts and crafts, design and cultural history. The museum shows fashion, furniture design, historical furniture, Scandinavian folklore and everyday objects from the 16th century. The museum has also a large collection of historical documents and photographs.

The East Asian Museum "Östasiatiska Museet" has a collection of over 100,000 objects from China, Japan, Korea and South Asia, as well as Central Asia. Temporary exhibitions enrich the program of the museum. The Museum Café "KIKUSEN" offers small Asian delicacies.
