War Memorial Museum

The War Memorial Museum is dedicated to the memory of the fallen soldiers from the First World War until today. It shows historic aircrafts and all kinds of weapons used at war. But there is also a nice exhibition of Maori art.   

Maritime Museum

The most important museum in the country shows Polynesian boats and navigation, the voyages of the Europeans, the history of whaling and other topics related to the maritime history of New Zealand.    

Auckland Art Gallery

The Auckland Art Gallery was opened in 1888 and shows works of European artists, Maori and Pacific art from the 14th century until today. The temporary exhibitions present interesting contemporary art from New Zealand. 

Navy Museum Devonport

The museum is dedicated to the history of the New Zealand Navy. The museum is located at "Torpedo Bay", which is a Base of the Royal New Zealand Navy since 1941.
