Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (Prince of Wales Museum)

The former "Prince of Wales Museum of Western India" is now called "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya" and is a museum of Indian culture. Among other things, Hindu and Buddhist figures, Indian handicrafts, coins and Persian works of art are exhibited.

The foundation stone of the museum was laid in 1905 by the Prince of Wales, later King George V. The Mughal-style building was designed by the architect George Wittet and opened in 1922. George Wittet also designed the Gate of India.
